Team GB's Recent Olympic Triumphs and Expectations for Paris 2024

Team GB's Recent Olympic Triumphs and Expectations for Paris 2024 hero

Team GB has experienced tremendous success in the last few Olympic Games. They achieved fourth place overall in Beijing 2008, climbed to third on home soil at London 2012, increased their medal tally in Rio 2016, and secured another fourth place in Tokyo 2020. With expectations high for Paris 2024, the team is off to a promising start, meeting those expectations thus far.

A Strong Start in Paris 2024

For the first time since 2004, Team GB secured medals on day one of the Games and has already won 12 gold medals. Following a spectacular 'Wonderful Wednesday' on July 31, which saw a significant medal haul, the team continued to excel over the weekend, placing fifth in the overall medal table. A notable highlight was Keely Hodgkinson’s outstanding performance in the 800m final on August 5.

Athletic Achievements So Far

Team GB athletes have showcased their talents across various disciplines, including running, swimming, riding, biking, diving, and shooting. With many top medal hopefuls yet to compete, particularly in gymnastics, rowing, track cycling, and athletics, there's much more to anticipate.
